Looking for info on Yoga House. Anyone familiar with the studio? Is it clean? Are the practices challenging? I am used to a hot yoga, vinyasa practice at a studio in Georgetown, but find it is very inconvenient to get there from Petworth. I'm wondering if Yoga House is worth a try. Any comments on it are much appreciated.

Like the others posting comments, YogaHouse is a great yoga studio. I've enjoyed the classes I've taken there -- the teachers have been wonderful and the space is lovely. And I haven't been bothered by the noise at all.

I also love Yoga House Studio. Elizabeth Greathouse, the owner, is a wonderful Kundalini and Ashtanga teacher. She's very dedicated and professional, and it shows in the quality of her classes. In fact, I've found most of the instructors to be really knowledgeable and to give clear instruction. I just like Elizabeth best.
It's true that the bar underneath can be noisy, but I find that after a few minutes I don't notice it anymore. I also highly recommend a beer downstairs after class. Heaven! And a great way to meet your neighbors.

My friends and I love, love, love Yoga House. Try Susie's Vinyasa flow class on Monday nights. Starting June 5th, she'll also be teaching a Thursday night Vinyasa class.
I also tried the new studio on 14th, quiet mind, but only for one class during yoga week. It's perfectly nice there, too. I just don't have much to go on.
The potential downside to both is noise. YogaHouse is over the Looking Glass Lounge, and quiet mind is across from a fire station. In both cases though I find that I'm able to tune it out.

I don't do yoga so wouldn't have a clue. Just wanted to point out there is a new yoga studio on 14th St just north of Tivoli as well.

Yoga House is fantastic. I would strongly urge you to give it a try. It is clean and very professional. If you like a practice that is "challenging," opt for one of the Vinyasa Flow or Ashtanga classes. Go to www.yogahouse.org to see the class schedule.
