[from Reyn A.]
Tonight's the night to rally behind re-opening park space at the Old Soldier's Home! Support is strong with Mayor Fenty, Delegate Norton, Councilmembers Graham, Bowser and Thomas, ANCs 1A & 4C, the National
Park Service and the US Commission of Fine Arts – but the National Capital Planning Commission needs to hear from you that we need park in Petworth and Park View! Think community gardens, walking and biking paths, a field to kick around a ball…
Bring your kids if you can't find a babysitter, and drop in any time between 6:30 and 8pm (see below). Also, if you're not already familiar with it, check out Washington Central Parks' concept here for a connected series of parks and trails in our neighborhoods. You can do your part in making this happen by coming out tonight:
Monday, April 14, 6:30–8:00pm
Bruce-Monroe Elementary School
3102 Georgia Ave NW
Speakers will be given five minutes to make oral comments. Written comments will be accepted at the meeting and also may be sent to:
Mr. Eugene Keller
National Capital Planning Commission
401 9th Street, NW
North Lobby, Suite 500
Washington, DC 20004

You can view the AFRH's Master Plan at the Petworth Library or download it online here.
