Kevin has a good point - this summer's drought has made it a hard, demanding summer for Sandy Hoffmann, who has done the bulk of the watering at 7th and Taylor, and myself (Ga. Ave and Upshur, Clark Elementary and the library).
A couple of thoughts:
For the Oct. 13 plantings, we're thinking of asking neighbors who aren't directly across the street from the parks but who want to see them green to throw a few dollars ($5-$10)into a kitty to help the neighbors who are pay their water bills next summer. Sandy would probably appreciate some donations because most of that water came from her house. Also, establishing a water kitty would make it easier to assign people to watering duties. We use a single source, but take turns pulling the hoses. Any thoughts.

On the subject of trees....
Sandy and I watered all the trees in the park at NH & Taylor Sts last night. They should be OK for another week or two. It's a big job, and quite frankly, it is getting old, real fast. Who wants to volunteer for watering duty sometime around 10/6?

This sounds like a great event. I hope we get some good turnout.
