I've been informed that the grand opening of the renovated Petworth Rec Center (at 8th and Taylor) is being scheduled for next Saturday (7/21). Watch this space for any official announcements or details as I get them.

I called the rec center and the grand opening is this Saturday, July 28th. The person I spoke to said there is a community meeting tonight at 6:00 if I want to get more info.

The playground equipment is one thing, but I heard that it was going to have a SPLASH PARK. Is that going to be operational?
It has been hot. A little splashing would go a long way.

Bill, from my understanding the grand opening will be held Saturday, July 28. The playground work will actually be completed on the 21st but the celebration will be on the 28th.
