Washington Central Parks and landscape architect Mary Pat Rowan led a walking tour Sunday (3/11) of Fort Totten Park and the remains of its Civil War fortifications.
For more photos of the tour see the new gallery in the right sidebar.
Thank you Reyn Anderson & Mary for organizing and taking us on this fun adventure. I have to say it was eye (& brain) opening. I've been living in Petworth for almost 4 years and never even knew this park - part of a system of forts designed to protect DC from attacks during the civil war - existed.
Loved it and can't wait to take my family on walks or for a picnic when the weather becomes nicer.
Cheers, Mariama
