[from David Dzidzienyo]
Last night around 9:20pm, ANC 4C06 Commissioner Peron Williams passed away. His family and the Petworth community have suffered a great loss. For those who never had the pleasure to meet Peron, he was an extraordinary person who had a tremendous impact on many lives. So many have benefitted - and will continue to benefit - from his work in the community for years to come. I have personally lost a great friend, a loyal brother, and someone who I have a tremendous amount of respect for. This is a time for the Petworth family to come together and to give as much support to the Williams family as possible. I know Peron would truly appreciate it. I hope that we as a community will continue to build on the great work that Peron has put forth. He will truly be missed.
We love you Peron.

My daughter told me about Peron's passing this morning. Although we live in Congress Heights now we still have ties to Petworth via family and friends. I was sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed.

I deeply valued Peron's noteworthy commitment to the Petworth community, and I will miss his presence and his work on behalf of our neighborhoods. My heart goes out to his family and close friends.

This is very sad news, I knew he had been struggling with health problems lately. I met Peron about two years ago when he stepped up to run for David Jannarone's seat at a time when ANC 4C was in real trouble. I liked him and always found him to be a sincere and passionate advocate for Petworth. In a changing neighborhood, he always strived for a balance between progress and helping those who might be left behind. Hard to believe he's gone, just recently he was holding a shovel at the Park Place groundbreaking (a development he helped bring about). He will be missed greatly.
