[from Sandy Hoffmann]
The DC Office of Planning is in the midst of a major revision of the DC Comprehensive Plan. The Ward 4 meeting to get public comment on the new draft master plan is tonight. This plan will establish zoning and all land use planning by the District for a long time. This is the kind of thing that's done once every 5 to 10 years or so, the last time was 1998-99. So this will guide Georgia Ave redevelopment, changes of zoning within rowhouse areas, parks, Soldiers Home, schools, playgrounds, transportation etc. For those who care about the direction this area will go, this is an important place to be heard.
Ward 4 Comprehensive Plan Forum
Thursday June 8, 6:00pm-8:30pm
Emery Recreation Center
5701 Georgia Ave NW (Ga & Madison)
Very disappointed to have missed this... can someone summarize what was discussed / decided? Thanks.

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend this meeting tonight as I have a previous committment, but am very interested in hearing about what changes are being made in the plan for Petworth. Specifically zoning changes around the Metro station and Soldier's Home. Will anybody be reporting back here after attending the meeting? Is the Comprehensive Plan available for viewing online?
