[from Joe Martin]
I am increasingly hearing from Petworth and nearby residents who may want to buy or rent in one of the new buildings slated for Georgia Avenue. The best bet is to contact the companies that will be developing the various parcels. Those companies are:
NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT COMPANY

202-722-6003
Developing the empty lot on Georgia at Taylor and also "The Lofts at Brightwood" at Georgia and Missouri.
JOHN C. FORMANT
John C. Formant Real Estate

202-544-3900
Mr. Formant will be creating a condo building at Georgia and Upshur, where the Shell gas station currently sits. He will also be developing smaller buildings to house condo units on 8th Street NW north of Upshur (several homes formerly owned by Rock Creek Baptist). Mr. Formant is also interested in neighbors' suggestions for businesses we might want to see in his Georgia Avenue building.
DONATELLI AND KLEIN
Contact Larry Clark of the Donatelli and Klein regarding the development to be constructed over the Georgia/Petworth Metro station. This development will be the first to emerge. Groundbreaking will occur sometime soon, I hope.

JAIR LYNCH COMPANY
The Jair Lynch Company plans to build very affordable APARTMENTS in a building to go up near 3910-3912 Georgia Avenue NW near Randolph.

I hope this information is helpful. I have been hearing from a lot of people who are already Petworth residents interested in these developments. My understanding is that people from nearby zipcodes (20010, 20011) will be given priority on lists of prospective buyers and tenants at each of the new developments.

Does anyone know what's going up on the east side of Georgia, just north Columbia Rd? It's mid-block and currently 3 stories. Thanks!

Any word about the Lakritz/Adler building that I heard was going up at 3600 Georgia Ave? Anyone know if that is still a go?
