ANC 4D monthly meeting
Tuesday, February 21
7:00-9:00pm
4th District Police Station, 6001 Georgia Ave NW
202-722-6830
ANC 4D doesn't get much attention on this blog. But if you look at the ANC maps in the left sidebar you'll see that 4D is quite big, basically comprising Petworth from Sherman Circle up to Missouri Avenue. 4C is bigger in total area, but only about half of 4C's ten single member districts (SMDs) are in Petworth.
I get the impression that 4D (like 4C until recently) is not well-known by residents. Anyone have insight into the current commissioners, issues, quality of monthly meetings, etc? I encourage anyone living in ANC 4D to attend tonight's meeting if possible, at least as a kind of reconnaissance mission. A healthy, functioning Advisory Neighborhood Commission is an important prerequisite to getting proper attention and services from the city.
Bill Crandall.
Does anyone have an update on the ANC 4D meeeting last night? I could not make it.
I also received a newsletter at my home yesterday which reported that Renee Browser is now the Chair and ANC 4D.
I agree with Alex who posted that we need to become more visible and use other resources for communication to reach more neighbors and businesses in our SMD.

Thank you for this information Terri and Bill. I would like to become more active and (hopefully) serve my 4D community as a commissioner soon. You're right, we are underrepresented on the internet in general and on this blog in particular. I will try to do my part in changing that.

I live in 4D and my ANC Commissioner lives on my street. She is Renee Browser who is very active in the community. We don't do as many electronic postings as ANC 4C, but I believe we are alive and well.
