My family lived right around the corner from Robert on Gallatin Street before we moved to Portland, OR a few years back. I am shocked to hear of his passing.
I was always struck that this was exactly the kind of man and father our neighborhoods needed. he was engaged in his world both in his family and neighborhood. he had common sense and an independant mind willing to question some basic assumptions about what was wrong and right about the neighborhood. The Psalms talk about the wicked flourishing and the just perishing.....this is tragic and we will pray for his family and honor his memory.
