[from Robb L.]
LaKritz Adler is pleased to report that they have signed a lease with CVS to bring a pharmacy and convenience store to the Petworth neighborhood, at Georgia and New Hampshire and directly across from the entrance to the Georgia Avenue/Petworth Metro station. Construction will begin late this fall, with the store expected to open in late spring of 2010.
CVS is fine but why not have a mixed use project here? It's not the best use of the site.

Indeed these are good news for our neighborhood. It will be nice to not have to stop in Columbia Heights just to buy some pharmacy -related item.
This will not be a one story building it will be a 2 story CVS on the triangular space across from the metro. For us who live in the neighborhood we don't need a parking lot- walk the 3-4 blocks it will be good for your health!! Also none of the CVS in the city have a parking lot bc they are in the city.

Seriously? Where's the pharmacy drive-thru and parking lot? Kidding aside - This belongs in Leesburg. I am all for development, but a one-story building across from the street from a Metro entrance is weak.

so will this be at the ground level of the apt building being built across the street from the menu?

YEAH! Good news for Petworth ... GREAT NEWS FOR PARK VIEW!!
It will be so nice to be able to pick up a gallon of milk on the way home ... or shampoo, etc., etc.
